Sekitei Japanese Restaurant

I visited Sekitei Japanese Restaurant while sightseeing around ASA Arena, and it turned out to be one of the best meals I had in Ulaanbaatar. The atmosphere is calm and beautifully designed in a Japanese style, which makes it feel like a quiet escape from the busy city. I tried sushi, tempura, and green tea — everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, and even though I didn’t speak Mongolian, ordering was easy and comfortable. It’s a great spot for travelers who want to enjoy authentic Japanese flavors in Mongolia. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re visiting the ASA Arena area!

In fact, our experience at this restaurant left my company profoundly surprised and thoroughly impressed by the exceptional quality across a diverse selection of offerings. From sushi to ramen, curry to udon, and karage chicken, every dish we sampled was nothing short of fantastic. It's rare to find a restaurant that excels across such a broad spectrum of dishes, and Sekitei has certainly achieved this remarkable feat. The pleasant surprises didn't stop at the food; we also enjoyed the luxury of a nice private room and good service. The staff was attentive, ensuring our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. Unlike some other establishments, this location even had a bell/ringer to call for service, adding a convenient touch to an already impressive level of service. The atmosphere of Sekitei is quaint and charming, providing a charming (if rustic) backdrop to the culinary journey. It's a place where great food meets a welcoming environment, creating an experience that goes beyond the ordinary. Sekitei consistently serves good food. I dined there twice and the quality of the sushi, sashimi and cooked food never fails to deliver. From nigiri to hand rolled sushi, they serve some of the best sushi in Ulaanbaatar. The staff are attentive and the service is efficient. The food is well priced and are on par with other sushi restaurants in town. The dining rooms are cosy and overall cleanliness is top notch. I highly recommend you check this restaurant out when you’re craving for sushi in Ulaanbaatar.
